For a long time, I used to think that AI generation and LLM integration were for big organisations and larger products until I found Cloudflare Workers AI. But before I tell you anything, check out this demo below —
I have been writing blogs for quite some time now, not many blogs, but for many years. One thing that has always annoyed me is thinking of a slug (the thing that will appear in the URL), excerpts, metadata for Open Graph APIs, SEO, etc. From time to time, I also find it hard to find and add tags to my blogs (doable, easy, but I am very lazy).
So, when I found out about Cloudflare Workers AI and how easy it was to integrate with my existing system, I was amazed. So, what is it? According to Cloudflare's official documentation —
"Workers AI allows you to run AI models in a serverless way, without having to worry about scaling, maintaining, or paying for unused infrastructure. You can invoke models running on GPUs on Cloudflare's network from your own code — from Workers, Pages, or anywhere via the Cloudflare API."
Since I was already running my blog CMS inside a Cloudflare Worker, it just took a single wrangler.json configuration —
"ai": {
"binding": "AI"
}And a simple route -
import { Hono } from 'hono';
export const ai = new Hono<{ Bindings: Env }>();
ai.post('/generate-metadata', async (c) => {
... your generation code here ...
});
And voila! My custom editor was able to generate all the stuff that I was too lazy to do.
